MAY.....YES, ALL OF MAY

May was a busy month!  Jonathan wrapped up his senior year and graduated from High School. Max and Jake participated in the Whiskey Row Marathon.  The much anticipated Avengers movie came out.  Brig danced in his Cinco de Mayo celebration at school.  Chelsea finished up her 2nd year of college - graduating with honors from the culinary program.  The annual dad/kid hike happened and Brig got to go for the first time.  They hiked along a creek by Cottonwood.  Jay and I celebrated our 22nd wedding anniversary, we spent the weekend in Sedona, exploring and hiking.  Jonathan graduated from Seminary.  Those are some of the hilights along with at least 100 other important things that took place:)

HE ASKED, SHE SAID YES

Jonathan asked a friend, Karen Schuenman, to prom.  He placed 100 or so cut out footprints with hersheys kisses on them from her front door to her room.  Then he hung this huge sign in her room.
"NOW THAT I'VE KISSED THE GROUND YOU WALK ON, WILL YOU BE MY DATE FOR PROM!"
THS IS HOW JONA ASKED KAREN
I KNOW, I KNOW.....he's a little crazy
This is how Karen answered him, hundreds of sticky notes all over the truck with messages like, YES! MMMHHMM! OF COURSE! LOVE TO! PLEASE & THANK YOU! ect...

We had alot of fun, it was Unlce Joshs b'day, the kids made him quite a fancy bday outfit (robe, straw hat with balloon attatched, etc) and Alysha and I made some delicious strawberry lemonade (lots of lemons later...).

Brigs Great Month

BRIG
Brig had a great month of February!
Here are some of his accomplishments
1. He was an alternate for the school spelling bee
He DID NOT want to participate for fear of stage fright.
He ended up participating and got 2nd Place!

2. Brig worked hard on his science fair project,
"Does your heart rate increase while playing video games?"
After playing many video games (all the brothers participated)
and taking alot of heart rates, he concluded that YES they did.
For all his efforts Brig got 1st place at his school!

First Pinewood Derby
3.  Brig also got to participate in his first
     pinewood derby.
He worked very hard on his car with his
dad, they changed the design a couple of
times, the wheel broke off and had to be
super glued back on, the tires were a bit
uneven, but he was excited to race it.  We
explained that he might not win, and that it
was just for fun:).  Our stake had two race
dates and Brig participated in both,
He got 1st place at both pinewood derbys!

Each time someone in our family accomplishes something GREAT or HARD we have a little
celebration.  This month Brig was the recipient of THREE celebrations.  We call them,
"FOR HE'S A JOLLY GOOD FELLOW" celebrations.  We sing the for he's a jolly good fellow song then light some candles and stick them in whatever we are eating that night.  Brig has had
alot of chances this month to know how great we think he is!

HAPPY 20TH BIRTHDAY CHELSEA!!

So our baby girl turned 20, wow, 20!  Jonathan and I planned a fun, crazy, birthday adventure for her.  True to Tipton style it was a bit crazy, but very fun:)  Chelsea had 12 locations around Prescott to find and take a picture of her and her crew at.  She ended up at the base of Thumb Butte and had to dig for her treasure, it was a foot or so under and the chest was filled with gift cards.  Each member  of the crew had to be wearing some pirate effect the whole time.

MLK PARTY

So yesterday was Martin Luther King Day, the kids didn't have school, Chelsea was
visiting and we had to think of something great to do.....
This is what we came up with; a suprise party, for MLK, and each person got to invite
a famous guest. We made crepes, did O.J. toasts, and listened to the "I have a dream"
speech. There was great music, and some even greater dancing:)

Our guests included; Michael Jackson, Beyonce, Urkel, Aretha Franklin, Morgan Freeman, Bob Marley, and Oprah. Of course MLK was there!
The Guests!
